About us & our setting

Hi, my name is Sara Anthony and I am 28 years` old and have been a full time childminder for over six years.

I studied locally in college where I obtained a National Diploma in Health & Social Care. I have also been babysitting whilst childminding for six years. In addition to all that I have been an older sister to my younger siblings for many many years, so all in all I have many years` experience of working with and being involved with children.

I have successfully completed a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People`s Workforce: Early Learning and Childcare Pathway (England)

Relationships with Parents

Hi, my name is Emma Anthony and I have 28 years` experience with children, firstly as a mother of four children and then as a childminder for 8 years.

I have been married to my husband, Phil, for twenty seven years and have four fabulous children. My eldest daughter, Sara, is 28, and she is my business partner here at Little Treasures Childminding Services. James, 25, is my eldest son, who is in university studying to work with children. Ieuan is 13 years old and he attends Bishops Lydeard Primary School and my youngest daughter is Carys, who is 7.

I was employed full time myself for many years and as such used to use childminders myself to look after my children. I know then, first hand, how I felt at the thought of leaving my children, maybe for the first time, and how important it was for me to feel comfortable with my childminder and know that my children were getting the best possible care, feel at home, be happy and want to go there. I have tried to ensure this is my first priority as a childminder.

It is very important and rewarding to see the children develop, and how as a childminder you are able to contribute to the development of the children. We try to encourage an environment where we can work in partnership with parents, to continue to develop the children as individuals, but also for them to feel that they are part of our family. Our aim is to achieve a strong working partnership by always making time to discuss parent concerns about their children, informing parents about their child`s activities throughout the day verbally or written in each child`s online Tapestry Journal.

Working in partnership with parents is of major value and importance to us as this will enable us to provide a happy, caring and stable environment for your children. Wherever possible we try to meet parents’ requests for the care of their children according to their values and practices, preferences and attitudes. We will notify all parents in advance when we are due to be inspected by Ofsted so that parents can contribute their views to the inspector if they want to. We will then give parents access to the Ofsted report as soon as possible.

We would be grateful if parents could inform us of any changes in the child’s home circumstances, care arrangements or any other changes which may affect the child’s behaviour, such as a new baby, parents’ separation, divorce, new partner or any bereavement. All information shared will be kept confidential unless there appears to be a child protection issue.
